About Me
 

After reuniting with my first family in 2011, I was introduced to Adoption Healing, Inc. and their resources, including a free nightly support group. My world was finally starting to make sense. My desire to understand at a deeper level drove me to reach out to the adoption community to better understand how adoption impacts Adopted People and Mothers of Adoption Loss. After several years of empirical research, I applied to graduate school. While studying at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto in their five year training program, I continued my empirical research and learning privately about psychologically supporting those affected by adoption, including transracial and transnational Adopted People, and the reunion process.

During this time, I was honoured to accept the role of co-facilitator of the nightly support group and healing weekends as well as serve on the board of directors of Adoption Healing, Inc.

 

I graduated from Gestalt Institute of Toronto in 2022 with extra training on working with couples, and am now a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. 

 

Prior to 2011, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from York University, majoring in sociology. I married and started a family and was employed in the corporate sector.  I have also owned businesses in childcare services and the culinary arts.
